Overview

Yoshi Haru at 70A High St, Halstead CO9 2JG, United Kingdom, fits naturally into the town’s dining scene as a straightforward restaurant for people who want a relaxed meal without unnecessary fuss. Its High Street location makes it easy to keep in mind when browsing local restaurant locations, especially for anyone looking for a place that offers both dine-in and takeout.

What stands out first is the practical setup. Yoshi Haru works well for a casual visit, whether someone wants to sit down and enjoy their meal at a steady pace or pick up food to eat elsewhere. The dine-in option gives guests a more comfortable restaurant experience, while takeout is useful for busy days, family evenings, or a quick meal after errands around Halstead. That flexibility makes the restaurant feel accessible rather than formal.

The menu is an important part of any restaurant review, and while the specific dishes are not listed here, Yoshi Haru can still be described as a place where the ordering experience appears simple and convenient based on the services provided. Guests looking through the menu can plan for either a seated meal or a takeaway order, which helps make the visit feel more adaptable to different needs.

Another useful detail is that Yoshi Haru accepts NFC mobile payments. This small feature matters more than people often realize, because it makes paying faster and smoother. For diners who prefer using a phone or contactless device instead of cash, the payment process feels modern and convenient.

Yoshi Haru is also marked as good for kids, which adds to its appeal for families. A restaurant that works for children often feels easier for parents or groups who want a more relaxed outing. Instead of feeling limited to adults-only dining, guests can see it as a suitable option for a casual family meal in Halstead.

For anyone reading reviews and comparing local restaurants, Yoshi Haru offers a clear mix of useful qualities: a central High Street address, dine-in service, takeout availability, contactless payment, and a family-friendly atmosphere. It is the kind of place that feels practical, approachable, and easy to include in everyday dining plans.

A great, authentic Japanese dining experience! The sushi was delicious and the bento box was a great size and really enjoyable too. I'd highly recommend Yoshi Haru to lovers of Japanese cuisine and newbies to the scene alike - will definitely visit again.

Had an excellent takeaway meal. Lots of food, super quality and well packed for the journey home. Lots of parking behind Sainsburys. Please publish the menu online with takeaway numbers so there is no confusion over orders :)

Gutted I haven’t found this place sooner. At the moment it’s a limited menu (cooked food only so no raw sushi) but that suits me fine. I got a few Chinese dishes and they were exactly the right flavours found in authentic Chinese cooking. For example the hot and sour soup was the right colour, texture and actually spicy! I didn’t know there was Chinese food on the menu otherwise I would’ve switched from other offerings in this town ages ago. I’m looking forward to getting the raw sushi when that’s back on the menu and to trying other Chinese/Japanese dishes from here. I can imagine their Sichuan dishes have the exact flavours I’m after. Highly recommend!

I think this is a real gem of a Japanese restaurant here in Halstead, Essex. I've eaten in a couple of very good Japanese restaurants and really thought this was better based on the current menu. They're not serving fresh Sushi at present due to the contamination issues with COVID-19 (I ate here with my family on 18.09.20 so will hopefully change at some point). The restaurant is very neat and clean with hand sanitisers on every table and there is enough distance between tables to be comfortable. I was hoping for a little more Japanese décor around the restaurant (this is my only negative) but liked the pictures that were there. Would be good to see some more modern day Japanese pictures in the form of photos of Japan or some more Anime. For starter, myself and my wife had the Chicken Gyoza (Japanese Dumplings) whilst the kids had the Chicken Wings. The Gyoza was delicious and the outside of the dumpling reminded me a little like the taste of a pancake which was nice. For a main, I went for the Ebi (Tempura Prawn) Katsu Curry Bento box which came with a good portion of prawns, rice, curry sauce, cooked crab meat Sushi and vegetables which all tasted fresh and delicious as they should. The Bento Boxes are great as the compartmentalise each of these servings so you can mix things together as you please and is very appealing to look at. Drinks were Japanese Asahi Lager which I personally enjoy very much as well as various other soft drinks. I didn't see what other alcoholic drinks they did as I only wanted a couple of beers due to it being a weekday. Service was good and the gentleman who was working (possibly the owner?) was efficient and polite through our time in the restaurant. Hopefully, I'll get the chance to sample some fresh sushi once things are better than the current climate. The 4 of use thoroughly enjoyed the meal which is rare with younger kids so look forward to returning again soon.
